Nearly every human loves ice cream or frozen yogurt. The good news is, you can make a safe and healthy frozen yogurt and fruit treat for your dog that can be enjoyed right along with your own version of chilly deliciousness.
This is a versatile recipe with inexpensive ingredients. It’s so simple your kids will love to get in on the action and regularly help make these yummy treats for your family’s best friend.
For this version we will use banana. Other dog-friendly fruits that work well for this type of recipe include: raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, and pineapple.
"Important note: some fruits and other foods are toxic to dogs and can cause serious health complications, even death. Grapes, raisins, avocado, and rhubarb are just a few. Please check with your veterinarian for a full list of these deadly foods before making this or any recipe for your dog."
You will need:
4 oz plain yogurt
2 oz water
Use a food processor or blender to mix all ingredients to a smooth consistency. Pour mixture into a clean ice cube tray (makes about 10 treats). Freeze overnight and let your dog enjoy 1-2 treats a day, depending on weight and your vet’s recommendations.
